We use what you send only to reply to you and, for quotes, to add an anonymized entry to our cost data. See our Privacy Policy.
What we’re especially glad to receive
A quote you’ve just been given. Brand, capacity, efficiency rating, your state and the final installed price. We remove your personal details and add it to our cost database, so the next homeowner can judge whether their own quote is fair. This is the single most useful thing you can send us.
A correction. If a number here is wrong or out of date, tell us. We check it, fix it, and note the correction on the page.
A rebate program we’ve missed. Especially local utility programs, which are the hardest to track.
What we can’t do
We can’t diagnose your system remotely, recommend a specific contractor, or tell you whether to accept a particular quote. We’re not licensed contractors. For anything involving your actual equipment, call a licensed professional in your area.
We don’t accept guest posts, link insertions or sponsored articles, and we don’t reply to those requests.
How HeatPumpTab uses what you send
Quotes go into our cost database without your name, email or street address. We keep only the details that help other homeowners compare: brand, model, capacity, efficiency rating, state and the installed price. Your email address is used only to reply to you. We don’t sell it, share it or add it to a mailing list.
Corrections are checked against the original source before we change a page. If you’re right, we fix the number and add a note at the bottom of the guide saying what changed and when.
Before you write about a problem with your system
Many questions are already answered in our troubleshooting guides. Start with the one for your brand, such as Mitsubishi mini split error codes or Carrier fault code 84. If your heat pump is still under warranty, contact your installer first, because many warranties require repairs by an authorized dealer. You can also look up a model’s certified ratings in the AHRI Directory before you send us a quote.
